Beekman 1802’s Favorite Holiday Memories on the Farm

Beekman 1802’s Favorite Holiday Memories on the Farm

It’s that time of year again: The leaves are changing color, the goats on the Beekman 1802 farm are getting their winter coats, and our 2025 Advent Calendar is officially in stock (for now). Yes, the holidays are just around the corner, and Team Beekman is excited for another season of giving and gifting.

But as we think about all the Kindness to come, we can’t help but reflect on the many special moments we’ve shared with our Neighbors over the years. In this post, we’ll share a few of our favorite holiday memories and what they mean to us.

Beekman 1802’s Favorite Holiday Memories on the Farm

1. Reading Precious Little Snowflake live 12 times during Beekman’s Holiday Marathon

Beekman’s Holiday Marathon is an annual holiday tradition. Usually, it's a 24-hour live online broadcast, but during the pandemic, we had to break it up into 12 hour-long shows for everyone’s safety. The whole team worked together to pull it off, proving that small things can make a monumental impact, just like in Precious Little Snowflake—which we read all 12 times!

2. Watching third graders turn Beekman bars of soap into “reindeer”

One year, Team Beekman gifted bars of soap to a class of Sharon Springs third graders to give as gifts to their parents. “We think it’s so important for kids to learn the joy of giving at an early age,” said Stacy Merchant, Head of Neighbor Services. But the children took it a step further, wrapping and decorating the bars of soap to make them look like reindeer. It created a beautiful ripple effect of Kindness.

3. Singing Christmas carols with Neighbors (and Önder the dog)

“Every Christmas morning since 2009, members of Team Beekman have visited the Sharon Springs assisted living home to sing carols and share Beekman gifts,” said Josh. “Önder has also joined us in song since she was a puppy in 2013!” You can’t help but smile when the pup starts singing along.

The best holiday moments are filled with Kindness.

The holidays are a great time to show gratitude, love, and Kindness toward your Neighbors. Whether you give them a little extra care or gift them something special, putting a smile on someone’s face is the Kindest thing you can do! And as Dr. Brent says, “A smile is contagious and is the best beauty regimen of all.”
