Vanilla has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties which can soothe and calm irritated skin. All of our ingredients are sensitive skin-friendly, but you can rest assured our Vanilla Absolute fragrance line is suitable for sensitive skin.

Because vanilla is rich in antioxidants, it can help prevent and reverse signs of aging caused by free radicals. This means fewer fine lines, wrinkles, and a reduction in age spots. So, while vanilla smells amazing, you can enjoy it in your skincare and bodycare products for more than just its scent. 

Just because you have sensitive skin doesn’t mean you can’t take advantage of highly effective skincare products. For example, each of our active serums are skin barrier-friendly, so you can get the full effect with no irritation. Try our plant-based retinol alternative serum, a vitamin C serum, and ourAHA and BHA serum for flawless skin that won’t disrupt your natural barrier. 

It depends on the ingredients. Scented lotions with a ton of added synthetic fragrances may irritate your skin, but scented lotions with natural essential oils are suitable for sensitive skin. 

Lotions with skin barrier-friendly ingredients are good for sensitive skin. We suggest looking for ingredients like goat milk, vitamin E, mango seed butter, shea butter, glycerin, and jojoba seed oil for nourishing, hydrating and soothing effects.

Scented vs unscented body lotions mean exactly that: One will have a fragrance whereas the other will not. At Beekman 1802, we have both options and pride ourselves on making all scents (including unscented) safe for sensitive skin.

It depends on the added fragrance source. While synthetic fragrances can result in redness, itchiness, and overall irritation, essential oils can have therapeutic benefits. That’s why we formulate our sensitive skin-friendly scents with essential oils that enhance the bodycare product rather than damage your skin barrier.
