Ali Forney Center: A Safe Haven for LGBTQ+ Youth
One of our most meaningful collaborations has been with the Ali Forney Center (AFC)—a lifeline for LGBTQ+ and at-risk youth experiencing homelessness in New York City.
Why AFC?
Founded in 2002 in memory of Ali Forney, a gender-nonconforming youth tragically murdered in 1997, AFC embodies resilience with a purpose. From its humble beginnings, it’s now the largest organization in the U.S. dedicated to LGBTQ+ homeless youth Ali Forney Center.
What AFC Does

24-hour Drop-In Center providing more than 70,000 meals annually, alongside vital medical and mental health support Ali Forney Center.

An exceptionally efficient operation—about 85% of revenue goes directly to frontline services, 11% to programming administration, and only 5% to fundraising Ali Forney Center.

A heartfelt continuum of care model—covering street outreach, housing, counseling, mentorship, legal help, and more—all aimed at transforming lives and empowering independence Ali Forney Center.
