A Very Refined Sipping Game

When we were trying to think of the most appropriate cocktail for the Season 2 Finale Sipping Game, our initial thought was to do something that really backed a wallop  (variations of the Harvey Wallbanger or the Long Island Ice Tea).  After all, who doesn’t want to go out with a bang?

But then we remembered that the show airs on a Tuesday and that it might not be such a good idea for a “school night”.

Then we thought of doing something more celebratory—something with champagne!  But that seemed kind of boring, and we had just created the champagne punch last week.

While employing our characteristic “creative conflict resolution”  (aka bickering), we got a call from someone who works at Bacardi who said that they had been following our episodic sipping game all season.  They suggested their classic mojito.

And that was perfect.

Not only is the fresh mint starting to take over various corners of the garden at Beekman Farm, but, to be realistic, our lives at this point are less about flash and bang and more about finding a way to muddle through somehow.

Click here for the mojito recipe.

Take a sip every time you feel sad that this is the last episode of this season of The Fabulous Beekman Boys.

Just finished your book, "The Bucolic Plague" and it was a hoot. It led me to this website and now I see that I must get your first season on DVD. I've been missing out!! Best of luck to you both.

Found it! Thank you, Brent! (Do you hate it when people you don't know act so familiar? It's because we have you in our living room every Tuesday night, and sometimes all day – as in the Season 2 Marathon.)

You guys are so wonderful, and you make a wonderful couple. Best wishes for a Fabulous summer!

If you don't make it back to Planet Green for another season, you will be sorely missed. Is there a chance of a "Fabulous Beekman Boys" DVD collection???

Wept during the last episode. Oh! You guys! Josh, as a fellow Wisconsinite (Peshtigo) I loved the episode with your mother. I don't know what it is about moms from Wisconsin, but you can pick them out of a crowd. Your parents seem like such great people. To the two of you. Would you just have (acquire) some babies (human) please. The love that is so beautiful and apparent between the two of you is the absolute best stuff for raising great kids. You have the perfect mix of playfulness and structure. Your kids would be incredible people and a real gift to the world. Wish you the best.

Thank you Josh and Brent for letting us into your lives and also bringing so much more to into mine. I have fallen in love with Sharon Springs and am so lucky that I live so close to be able to enjoy it whenever I want. You both have made the show so personal and have made Sharon Springs even more magical than it already was. Thank you.

I cried, I cried, I laughed, I cried some more. I think I've said it everywhere I post, but Brent & Josh, thank you for letting us in on this journey with you. It's been an amazing ride (and for only finding the show 7 weeks ago I've been reeled in and am rooting for you guys in everything you do.)

The more I see of you guys, the more I see that you are more than perfect for each other. I noticed that at Terrain when Josh had his arms around you the whole time.

I also want to express my love for Farmer John's passion for all the animals at the Beekman.

Peace out….

I have been sad every time I think about it being the last season for weeks. So I couldn't possibly drink that much and still function as a grandmother and work, LOL I know you guys won't miss me but I will miss you both and everyone you have introduced/shared with us in Sharon Springs and your life. Thanks and hugs Donna

If we have to take a drink every time we feel sad that its the last episode… the whole liquor cabinet will be gone before the first commercial break. There MUST be a season three… We want to see Josh having a good time at the farm full-time. It has to happen. We have waited too long!!! LOL Cant wait to get Season Two on DVD !!!

Tomorrow I will be watching in a ripped black shirt and scrapps on my arms in mourning. Perhaps a hunger strike until they renew season 3.

Where did the season go? I can't believe its OVER? What are we going to do? I haven't had enough of either of you. What about getting PG to extend you for the summer,, please,, its too long to wait till next season, am I whining, yes, why yes I am. I am going to pout too, Did it work?

Okay, if I have to, I'll wait with bells on for the next season.

A Mojito is my favorite 'adult beverage.' The best one I had was at this beach bar in Venice, CA…..(although my sister in law makes a mean one, too). I make no claim as a bartender….but I may have to try this…

If I took a sip every time I felt sad that tomorrow is the final ep of Season Two, I'd be in a constant state of drunkedness!!!

Reply
Dolores Gerber

I hope that isn't true!!!! I will be so sad, I will have to have a couple of mojitos!!

If I drank, and if would drink everytime I'd feel sad that the season was over, I'd probably be drunk from now until at least Wednesday.

So Cheers to a fantastic season, and hopefully summer will be a little less stressful for you guys.
