Our mom’s were a little wary about appearing on the show…and really, isn’t that one of the most important jobs of a mom? Being wary?

But we think they’re pretty amazing and like to show them off. And, anyway, our siblings turned out much more sane than us, so you can’t blame any of our character flaws on our moms. They were very good sports about sharing their holiday with the cameras and crew. (Josh’s dad, too.)

And like the true moms that they were, they made sure that after filming was done for the day the entire “Fabulous Beekman Boys” crew ate a good Thanksgiving meal too, since they were all away from their families.

If you thought they did a good job on tonight’s episode, leave them a comment. They’ll die of embarrassment that we’re doing this, but isn’t that one of the most important jobs of children?

You know what? I do this to my kids constantly! It's called pride, flat out! We wouldn't show pictures of the past or present if we didn't truly want to show everyone how great our families are (even if it took a journey to get here). I loved seeing your parents I couldn't wait to see the people who raised the most brilliant, funniest people I've seen on tv in so long. Thank you for sharing your families with us Josh and Brent we all loved it. Can't wait to see next season and hopefully I can save enough to make it to next years Harvest Festival! I love you guys! Oh and Farmer John! I look at my Penny Savior in a whole new light thenks to Josh!!!!

Moms and Dad, you must be so proud of your sons and their way of teaching about life on a farm. You did a super job of raising such kind, wonderful men.

I just discovered this show and now I am hooked. Loved the episode with the Moms because isn't holiday stuff with strangers tough for all of us?? And they came through with grace and dignity–and it is so obvious that, like me, they LOVE their kids and the kids love them and that at the end of the day is all that counts.

To Linda,

I wanted to let you know how touched I was when you said that Brent waited so long to tell you he was gay that you missed out on a lot with Josh. My husband and I have friends that have been together for 13 years and one of them has not told his mom. I feel a sense of loss for his mom and also for him not being able to share his life with her. Seeing you admit that you were uncomfortable at first, but just want your son to love and be loved was very powerful! I don't think Brent has to worry about being a disappointment to you!! From one mom to another, great job!!

Couldn't wait to see the Mom's….Glad to see that we all even Josh & Brent have different ideas on Thanksgiving such as how much time to spend on the food. My family always seems to go overboard on the food for any holiday….but that just means leftovers….Love your show & would really love to come to the Harvest Festival but the 600+mile one way trip it alot but when I retire in 1 1/2 yrs I hope to be able to visit Sharon Springs.

Lynn:

Congratulations! By your response to Meg you have set her 'free' to be comfortable in your love no matter how she feels as she gets older, going through all the normal range of emotions about her sexuality. She asked a very specific and direct question, and you gave the perfect answer: no "qualifiers", no "only ifs", no ambiguity. May you be as proud of her as Jackie and I are of Josh (and Brent).

I loved seeing your Moms. While I know that being a gay couple isn't the ultimate point of the show, it provided a touching moment for me the other day.

My daughters and I have been watching the show the past few days… after setting the DVR. The other night, after watching the Thanksgiving episode, my 8 y/o daughter Meg snuggled up to me and asked, "would you love me and Claire if we grow up gay and marry women?" I snuggled her extra close and said, "of course." She said, "their Mommys love them, I can tell, and I know Grammy loves Uncle Mark, so that's good." (my brother happens to be gay, too.)

My girls also really appreciated the message about respecting the gift animals give us when we eat meat products. The Porkie and Bess episode made all of us tear up… though I did have to explain the names to them, and to my hubby.

Thanks for the reply. Sometimes when Josh speaks I swear I hear a good 'ol mid-West Lutheran vibe in him. Episcopalian is certainly close enough! Love both his books and hope more will be forthcoming.

Dear Mom & Dad

Thank You, for two wonderful human beings. I'm a grandma of 7 with a combination of both,Brent's need to make it perfect and get it right the first time with his splash of good taste and Josh's sentimental, romantic, hardworking self,I wish them a life time of happiness, health, romance and a couple of kids who can run around and be raised with all the love they and Sharon Springs has to offer. I hope I will be able to attend the wedding…What to wear? What to wear? kiss kiss

Love the show, loved Josh's book, love farmer John. I am so totally hooked on the show. My mother is deceased and my kids all live out of state, so brace yourself boys–I think I have adopted you. Keep up the good work.
