In our 2018 Fall Almanac, we had a section of our favorite “cheats” desserts. A cheat dessert is all about using simple recipes and shortcuts to produce delicious results. This quick blueberry sauce is a great basic recipe to have on hand to make any dessert extra special. Pro tip: Josh likes to use a little liqueur instead of water when he makes this recipe to give it an extra kick.
- 9 oz blueberries
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 3½ tablespoons water
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- Total Time: 5m
Bring the blueberries, lemon juice, water and sugar to the boil in a medium saucepan.
Reduce the heat and simmer until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes.
