Hand-wash with hot, soapy water. Dry thoroughly. Do not soak or submerge board in water, not dishwasher safe. Remove odors by rubbing the board with kosher or table salt and half a lemon. Let sit for 2 to 3 minutes then wipe clean with a damp cloth. Remove excess moisture with a clean paper towel and stand the board on end to air dry. Store in a dry area away from extreme temperatures. Occasionally rub with a food-safe mineral oil to keep wood from drying out.
ONE OF A KIND DESIGN
Who knew color-blocking on a wood block could look so chic? This eye-catching cutting board is made from maple and maple ambrosia, which gets its deeper color from a special Ambrosia beetle that burrows through the living wood. The two main blocks are united by a yellow accent stripe, aka Ray of Sunshine, which is made from a wood exclusively found in Brazil that’s naturally yellow.
MADE IN NEW YORK
Named after the town where their woodworking shop is located, Galway Woodworks is all about supporting local craftsmen. They source all their wood from Curtis Lumber which was founded in 1827, just down the road from the Galway shop.
