Life is pretty hectic here at Beekman 1802. But every once in awhile, we pause to gather our thoughts. And we often find that our thoughts are best gathered simply by pausing.

Below are several short videos of our favorite “stopping places.” Nothing much happens in these videos, but that’s the point. We hope that you, too, can experience the meditative properties of the Beekman. Just hit play, and relax.

Haiku to go along with these wonderful videos.

Sweet is the meadow

After a short Summer rain

The flowers bend low.

Come with me my friend

To sweet meadows in late June

We'll watch fireflies.

Look at the rabbit

Eating the parsley and thyme

Cute, now dill is gone.

Summer afternoon

Peaceful till lightening strikes

Sunshine will come soon.

Thunder storm at night

Wires down all power out

Candles give us light.

Dear Dr. Brent and Josh,

I live in the Piney Woods country on 36 acres in Deep East Texas. I love it here. However, I lived in Vermont by Stowe, for quite some time and the beauty and serenity that you have in upstate New York mirrors that!! I have added this to my toolbar so that I can return often to appreciate the simplistic beauty!! I think I like the one of the rain through your front door and shelling peas the best!! Thank you, Christi

Brent, I just wanted to say that I see a lot of myself in you, and my husband in Josh. You show is a true inspiration for small farmers. I live in a small town in Kentucky and we "attempt" to grow some of our own veggies and what we can not we buy from our local farmer's market. Thanks again, and we will be watching.

Just watched your show for the 1st time on cable station. It was wonderful. I have been all over your web site and watched all the video's. I felt like I was sitting in a rocker in your entrance way looking through the front door just listening to the rain. You have made something special in that grand ole place. Keep up the love. I am looking into a visit during Harvest Festival (Sept). Can't wait to meet you guys. Love to both of you

I have just discovered your website.Lovely!

Owning Cottage Hill Farm I feel a bit of the "kindred spirit" syndrome. Simple things, are joyful things. Pulling all the weeds. I started a blog on blogspot: vermontorganics. I kind of started little stories about what has happened on my our farm over the years. You have inspired me to start writing again. I love the videos. My favorite is "shelling peas" so peaceful.

Best things,

LaVerne Lesznik
