We like to call this our loaf for oafs because it has the rich, dark aroma of beer and is VERY easy to make.  Hmmm…maybe a man CAN live on bread alone.

Ingredients:

12 ounces of a dark beer or ale or stout

1 cup of whole wheat flour

1.5 cups of all-purpose flour

3 tablespoons of melted butter

1 tablespoon of baking powder

1 tablespoon of sugar

1.5 teaspoons of salt

Instructions:

1.  Preheat the oven to 350

2.  Grease a 9 x 5 loaf pan with butter or olive oil

3.  Mix all of your ingredients in a large mixing bowl until thoroughly combined

4. Place in the oven on the middle rack.  After 45 minutes, start checking every 5-10 minutes until a toothpick stuck into the center of the loaf comes back clean

How easy was that?!!  Let us know in the comments section below.

How do you get it to loaf like that? The dough comes out so moist.

While at the Talking Tree Casino in Scottsdale Az., having dinner before a Smokey Robbinson concert my sister and I bumped into some people, and they gave us the same oaf loaf. It is very good!!!!!
PS….. My sister is a fan of yours, so I made sure I got to the Mercantile to pick up May’s soap and lemon honey. Needless to say she was 1 happy sister!!!!!!

Is there no raising time on this bread? It just goes directly into the oven…..?
